Exemplar HW/SW Status
Current configuration is 128 CPUs in two hypernodes
Next 128 nodes have arrived: being installed
Nodes interconnected using CTI and HiPPI (two switches)
HPSS traffic travels over HiPPI
ATM connections planned for August
Maximum hardware limit on CPUs is currently 512: no limit in software
Disk controller configuration limits I/O rates currently to around 15 Mbytes/sec. With more controllers, will achieve 40 Mbytes/sec.
One IP address per Hypernode. (To make Obj’y scaling tests need a version which allows specification of Lockserver and AMS port numbers in the bootfile.)
HPSS client code compiles on HP/UX (not yet linked)
Non-DCE client being worked on at SDSC
