GIOD Project Goals

• With the Regional Computing Centre model in mind, the Project goals are to evaluate the computing feasibility, requirements and costs in the areas of:

  • OO analysis software and tools
  • Data storage media
  • Data storage management
  • OO database management
  • WAN bandwidth

• Key questions:

  • Is the OO paradigm right for HEP?
  • Can we cope with deluge of data?
  • Will the networks be reliable and fast enough?
